Background

On May 3^rd 2007, 3 year old Madeleine McCann disappeared from her parent's holiday apartment in Praia Da Luz. Rather than add to an already excessive volume of speculation about who may and who may not be responsible, or who may or may not be to blame, this site will attempt to frame the investigation within the broader context of commercial and political profiteering, exploring instead the various motives of certain interest groups and individuals who have laid claim to the ‘abduction event’ over the past 18 months or so. The site offers no explanation for what might have occurred prior to the event, only for the Press and PR activity that erupted in its wake.

During the 16th and 17th centuries the Serjeant’s Inn formed what was at that time the legal centre of England. It was from this order of barristers that Common Law Judges were chosen. On 4 September 1666 the Inn was completely destroyed by the Great Fire of London. In its place came what become known as the Fleet Street Serjeant's Inn - one of the two inns of the Serjeants-at-Law. It's in this same judicious spirit that we pick up a mantel that thus far remains unoccupied.

Why? Because it sounds good.
